Our company’s roots lie in bespoke joinery and internal fit out where we have worked with some of the most prestigious companies in the country. We wanted to use our expertise and skills in the garden building market.

Tettenhall
We recently had a garden room built by The Green Room Company at our home in Tettenhall. We chose a large cedar clad room which fits perfectly with the surroundings of our mature garden, located in a conservation area.
The workmanship is of a very high standard. Alex and the team also designed and fitted bespoke working and "bar" areas to help us best use the space as both an occasional office and family room.
The team were always friendly and courteous, and willing to help with any queries or requests throughout the build. We're very pleased with our finished room and would happily recommend The Green Room Company to anyone looking to add additional outdoor office or recreational space to their property.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need planning permission for our garden room?
Planning permission is not normally required; our buildings fall under permitted development (built under 2.5m high externally). Our garden buildings do not require building regulations approval either.
The opportunity to extend your home without planning permission or building regulations approval, enables us to install your garden quickly and cost-effectively…..saving money, time and stress!
However, should planning be required, we will be more than happy to help with the process. Don’t let the need for planning put you off as planning as 95% of applications are approved.
When might I need planning permission?
The need for planning permission is generally dependent on where you live and not related to the garden room building itself.
Most areas in the UK do not require planning permission for a garden room. If you live in a listed building, flat, maisonettes or SSSI (site of special scientific interest) then you will require planning permission for your building – otherwise you shouldn’t need it.
There are also considerations for those who live in AONBs and Conservation areas that affect where your green room can be built in your garden – but it does not affect your rights to have a garden room.
Can The Green Room Company do everything?
At the Green Room Co. we offer a complete service, from initial design to your completed building; all aspects are handled by and dealt solely by ourselves, you will have one point of contact who controls the whole project.

We offer a completely bespoke service, our rooms can be tailored to fit any plot size and shape. We build only to order, allowing us to tailor your room to your exact requirements.
